College-Level Exam Program (CLEP)
Mukwonago High School encourages students to take advantage of opportunities to earn college credit while still in high school. One such opportunity is the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), offered through the College Board. CLEP exams let students demonstrate mastery in a subject and, with a qualifying score, earn college credit accepted by many institutions.
At MHS, our Sociology course is specifically designed to prepare students to succeed on the CLEP Introductory Sociology exam, giving them a head start toward college credit even before they graduate from high school.
In addition to sociology, the CLEP program offers exams across a wide range of subjects, including history, literature, mathematics, science, languages, and more, allowing students to leverage their strengths and prior learning. This can reduce the cost and time required to complete a college degree.
We encourage parents and guardians to explore the possibilities with their student’s counselor, review how CLEP might fit into their postsecondary plans, and see the full list of available exams at the official CLEP site: Earn College Credit with CLEP
