An elective portfolio program is available for art career-minded students through the MHS art curriculum. A portfolio is a quality collection of art. Portfolios are used in the future by students to meet post-secondary fine art school admission requirements, application for advanced placement college credits or scholarships. This collection of art can also be assembled by students as they prepare themselves for post-secondary studies. Portfolios are often required by Fine Art Schools, Commercial Art Schools, and Technical Colleges for entrance acceptance. Universities and Colleges encourage young artists to produce Advanced Placement Art Portfolios. Many schools and colleges require art portfolios for scholarship eligibility.
