The mission of career and technical education is to prepare all students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter and perform successfully in our technologically based society. Therefore, career and technical education must be an integrated part of the total education program. Critical to this mission are the following premises:
- Education for Employment must be viewed as a vital responsibility of all teachers.
- Gainful employment must be a part of each student's educational preparation for life.
- Career choice and learning are life-long processes.
- Career and technical education curriculum development is a continuous process.
- Maximum use of resources must be developed through partnerships.
